Why PALS Recruit Out of State and International Students
Because PALS believes in creating a safer and more inclusive WORLD, where no child harms themselves because they feel ostracized. It is important for students to collaborate with peers from different races, cultures, and religions to help them build tolerance and empathy for differences.

Passports and Visas
The United States requires most Countries, if not all, to acquire some type of authorization to enter the U.S. We are not responsible for your travel or authorization arrangements. The best option is to contact the American Embassy. PALS would be perfect for a student who is already planning to visit the US as either an exchange student or an extended vacation.

Travel Arrangements
Book your flight to arrive at Miami International Airport or Fort Lauderdale Airport after 10am on Saturday, July 14, and depart Sunday, July 22. Please contact us before making airline reservations to make sure we can accommodate your travel arrangements.

Dress Code
Summers in FL are HUMID and HOT. Temperatures range from 30-35 Celsius but it feels like 40-45 with humidity. However, there is still a dress code. No short shorts. No cut off shirts (meaning your belly should never be showing). No strapless shirts. You are welcomed to wear comfortable capris and tank tops. Bring a light jacket because the classrooms are cold. No string bikinis. You will be provided with cotton blend t-shirts with the PALS logo on it. As the date gets closer we will post the colors. Bring three semi-formal outfits with appropriate shoes to match.

Drug and Alcohol Policy (Including cigarettes)
The possession and/or use of drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes is strictly prohibited.

Meal + Roommate Situation + Lodging Supplies
There will be approximately 130 students. You will have 3 other roommates of the same sex. You will either be alone in a single room, or in a 2 double bed unit with one other student in your room. Visit the Summit Info page for more information. You do not have to bring your own bedding if you are from out of town. It will be included in your tuition costs. Your meals will also be included in your costs so be sure to select the out-of-state or International Student Payment Option.
